About Pooch and Claws
Our story
- 2012poochandclaws.com starts in Colorado as a rescue and adoption resource: shelters by city, lost-and-found help, pet food recall notices and a guide to cat coat colors.
- 2019The original site publishes its last posts.
- 2026Pooch and Claws returns under new ownership, with a new set of tools and guides for dog and cat parents. The lost-pet guides, the food recall page and the guide to cat coat colors are back at their original addresses.
How we work
- Every calculator shows its formula and where the formula comes from.
- Every guide links to its sources: veterinary organizations, universities, government agencies and official park pages.
- Every guide shows the date it was last updated. Local pages show the date we last checked them against the official pages.
- Health pages are general information. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary help.
Corrections
When a page is wrong, we fix it and change the date at the top of the page.
