How we make money
Pooch and Claws earns money from advertising, shown as cards labeled Sponsored. We receive nothing when you follow one of our own links to a retailer or buy there.
Sponsored cards
Some pages can show blocks of cards labeled Sponsored. In a guide, blocks come between two sections, beside the text and after the article. On a calculator page, a block comes after the explanation. A block can also sit above the footer, and one card can sit in a corner of the screen. Each card is an ad and links to the advertiser's site.
A card is an advertisement, not our advice. Our own advice is in the guides and calculators, with its sources.
We are paid when a reader who clicked a card goes on to buy or sign up. An advertiser has no say in what a guide covers, which products it names or where it links.
The Privacy page lists what is recorded when a card is shown or clicked.
Retailer links
Some pages link to retailers so you can see what is available. Right now the retailer links in our guides are ordinary links. We earn nothing when you click one or buy something.
If we join a retailer's affiliate program, we will earn a commission when you buy through the links in our guides to that retailer. We will mark those links "(paid link)" and name the program on this page.
What we never accept
- Payment for a place in a guide.
- Payment to change what a page says.
- Free products in exchange for coverage.
